Emergency Medicine

The University of Toronto, Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program, is a five-year Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) postgraduate residency training program. The current capacity is 10 residents per academic year. The program is structured in accordance with the Specialty Training Requirements of the RCPSC, with the aim of training high calibre emergency medicine consultants. Over the course of the five years, residents rotate through a full spectrum of clinical rotations based at a number of our teaching hospitals. There is exposure to both large urban “core sites” as well as to a number of busy community hospitals.
